Grisoft, Inc., the developers of virus protection software products known as
"AVG Software" and Insight Sciences entered into a Reseller Agreement today.
The agreement allows Insight Sciences to provide the latest in anti-virus
protection to Linux customers interested in implementing added security
measures to their Linux deployment.
"We have been investigating AVG Software for our internal needs and are
pleased to become part of the Grisoft Reseller Program," states Declan
Cooper, CTO of Insight Sciences. "Insight's customers include public and
private organizations typically deploying a mixed environment that includes
Windows® and Linux. In such cases we want to offer the best products
available to minimize the negative effects of malicious code within the
respective operating environments," Cooper states.
The software products available for Linux include; AVG Professional Single,
AVG Network Edition, AVG Email Server, and AVG File Server. Cooper notes
that companies and public institutions are aware that simply deploying a
Linux solution to the mission critical side of an IT infrastructure does not
stop the threat of attacks from occurring. "Our clients include
organizations that are federally regulated, and although we specialize in
biomedical imaging technology, it is clear that Insight needed to provide an
option that minimizes the possibility of data and system corruption or
loss." Insight Sciences also sells the AVG Software for the Windows
operating system.
